N. Shelton Jones

Texas and North Carolina attorney and former Price Waterhouse CPA, with more than five decades of practice in tax, corporate, and energy law.

N. Shelton Jones is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and the State of North Carolina, and was previously employed as a Certified Public Accountant with Price Waterhouse & Co. in its Houston office.

Shelton was born in Clayton, North Carolina, on the 4th of July; admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1971 and the Texas Bar in 1973; U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit in 1981.

He earned a B.S. in Accounting (1969) and J.D. (1971) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and was certified as a Texas CPA in 1971. He served as an instructor in Accounting at UNC Chapel Hill in 1970 and practiced with Price Waterhouse from 1971 to 1973.

Shelton is a co-founder of the Greater Houston Tax Forum (President 1975 and 1985) and has served on the Board of Advisors of the J. Nelson Young Tax Institute at UNC Law School since 1988. He is a past member of the Houston Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
